Barcodes and short-term variable information
Direct thermal papers and films are used to create labels with variable data that can be scanned and are short-lived.
Barcodes are an example: the finish of this type of paper self-adhesive material is opaque to prevent the reader from being disturbed by glossy reflections. Typically, they are used in supermarkets, fruit and vegetable departments or in logistics. It is possible to preprint the self-adhesive support in colour, in case you want to highlight the brand that uses the material.
Eco Thermal Paper or Top?
The
Eco thermal paper version is designed to create labels for short-term applications in dry environments without external contamination. A special version of Eco thermal combined with a low weight liner is ideal for creating rolls to be used with scales and portable printers. The
Top thermal version is a special type of thermal paper with a coating that acts as a barrier against plasticizers, oil and moisture: it is used where excellent image resistance is required after printing, for example on food packaging of meat or fish in supermarkets. The Top thermal version is much more resistant to scratches than the Eco one. Premium Top, a special version, offers an additional barrier in the presence of high humidity.
Bisphenol-free
All our direct thermal papers are free of Bisphenol A,
a chemical component banned by the EU from 1 January 2020. Bisphenol A has been banned as toxic to individuals who are continuously exposed to contact with thermal paper, such as tax receipts.
