Application below zero
Food stored in supermarket freezers requires self-adhesive materials to create labels that can be used on packaging such as bags, heat-shrink films or vacuum packs.
The self-adhesive materials used for these packs are generally PP and PE. The
label is applied at sub-zero temperatures; for example, fish or meat packs in the fresh food department of supermarkets.
Direct contact for frozen or deep-frozen packaging
A specific adhesive is available for direct contact with food or for perforated packages that require the label to come into contact with the food, such as labels applied to the rind of the cheese. The adhesive also allows the
application of the self-adhesive material up to a temperature of -5°C.
Indirect contact for frozen or deep-frozen packagingFor indirect contact on frozen food packaging, a specific deep freeze adhesive is available that allows the
self-adhesive material to be applied up to a temperature of -15°C, combined with paper or film fronts. Direct contact for frozen packaging. The combination of a cavitated polypropylene with deep freeze adhesive is specific for the fish market where it is necessary to label polystyrene crates in the presence of both humidity and low temperatures and where the label must remain perfectly legible and applied.
